  • I was watching a few videos of the processors and was wondering why you cut a foot off the butt logs sometimes?? I've seen this in almost every video of the processors.

  • Because the tree is not good for lumber wood

  • Are the trees going for lumber or pulp? And does the saw destroy the butt? I don't understand

  • lumber wood

  • Dear heathermarie322 the sawing off of a little of the butt is commonly done to clean the log up so it can go as a saw log rather than a piece of pulp, due to a bad or rotten butt.

  • I have 80 acres of 40 year old growth. Can I borrow that for about a month? ha ha Looks like fun compared to how I have to do it.

  • ok thanks

  • seems to work great !
