Got to see Shea Cotton (Mater Dei), Eric Chenowith (Villa Park), Chris Burgess (Woodbridge), Olujimi Mann (Santa Ana Valley), and others when I was in High School. Those were some great times!
yeah man watched chenoweth alot and the collins twins too....my dad also used to take me up to dominguez high to watch them play, they had tayshaun prince and tito maddox (played a couple years in the league) and tyson chandler was a freshman that year...knew chenoweth wasnt more than a big body cause tyson ate him alive and he was only a freshman at the time while chenoweth was a senior.
I hear what you're saying but if he had just got better grades and passed the SAT he would have been at UCLA with Baron. Sucks though, he probably had the talent to go straight to the NBA but it wasn't considered smart to draft a high school kid in those days.
I agree, I played against him in high school and he was unstoppable. Damn near 7 feet and could hit from deep. I played against Chenoweth who went to Kansas and the Collins twins from Standord and Burgess was much better than any of them, in my opinion.
@Y2Jin99 : You have no idea what you're talking about. This dude got jobbed by the NCAA. There have been few as athletically gifted as Cotton. His main problem was he didn't improve alot skill wise after highschool and others started to close the gap physically. The guy you're watching here is basically what he looked like as a soph in HS, which is insane. Either way, he should've been in the league. He got fucked.
its just cause he couldnt shoot that well...one of the best athletic specimens of all time though...the guy was the fastest, strongest, and highest jumper 99% of the time he was on the court...too bad he didnt pan out.
chris burgess was the best high school center ive ever seen...too bad he couldnt stay healthy...the guy could do it all...i was only 8 or 9 when he was in high school but i remember watching him do whatever he wanted...shoot the 3, go coast to coast, post up, whatever...the guy could do it all...and he could MOVE for a big man...reminded me of a bigger bill walton (the one year he wasnt injured)

i know it wasnt long, my point was to illustrate the type of talent that dominguez had on their team at the time.

@TWBouska : Maddox only played one year with the Rockets, and it was like 6 games. He just wasn't an NBA player.
