ok. Step by step what I did to get this done so far for this video.
1. Go to Harbor Freight tools and buy a variable speed rotary polisher with kit for 32 bucks, get the 2 year warranty for 9 bucks, now thats a good deal for the kit.

2. After 4th coat I wet sanded paint with 1500 grit for kicks, then slapped another coat of paint on top, IT LOOKED 10 TIMES BETTER after painting over such a smooth surface.

3. Wet sanded with 2000 grit wet dry paper, then polished with 7" foam pad and polishing compound.

4. Smile ear to ear. :)

5. By the way, why is it when I look at almost every new factory paint job, they ALL have tremendous amounts of orange peel as compared to mine which has ZERO orange peel? :P

  • The inside of ur trucks fuckn nasty

  • @MrWhatitdo123 I know I like it that way...full of filth and KRAP

  • ok i have a question. how exactly do you polish?

Do you need to use rubing compound first? and then the polish? or just use polish on foam pad after wet sand?

  • @flores1091 First when I am done painting and getting prepped to polish it out, I wetsand with 1200, then 1500, then 2000. Then I go straight to the Meguiars ultimate compound with a high speed rotary polisher and a foam finishing pad. I don't bother with the rubbing compound at all. If I stopped wetsanding at 1200 or 1500, then yes I would use the rubbing compound, but sanding to 2000 and polishing eliminates the swirl marks from the rubbing compound. I got zero swirl marks in the finished job

  • After polishing it, over time will it haze over? Or will that shine last for a long time?

  • @456keith654 Well, I put this video up in may of 2009, and the paint still looks the same :)
