Bashu, the Little Stranger Part 8 [Bashu, gharibeye koochak] [Iranian Movie with English subtitles]

Bashu, the Little Stranger is a touching, thought-provoking 1986 Iranian movie directed by Bahram Beizai. The story is about a young boy named Bashu from Khuzestan province, in the south of Iran, during the Iran--Iraq War. His parents are killed in a bombing raid on his home village and he escapes on a cargo truck to the north of Iran. He finds refuge on the farm of a Gilaki woman, Na'i, who has two young children of her own. Bashu speaks Arabic, while Na'i and her children speak Gilaki. But inspite of the language barrier, color difference Nai raises bashu as her own child.

What a beautiful movie. I love to watch Iranian movies, many of them are so deep in meaning, showing so much compassion and humanism.

I´m from Iceland, but one day I´d like to visit Iran and see land and people in real life.

@generation155 May I assume that though its subtitles in English are inaccurate translations the story as a whole was correctly told? If not, can you say the story correctly in brief? With the story I understood from the subtitles and the entire running of the film it is a very beautiful film like a poem.

@dAlaCya its funny that you dont understand that we have Iranian Arabs. He is Arab ethnically, he speaks Arabic he is Arabic but resides in Iran, which makes him Iranian.

@TabbyAngel2 :), just for your information, the black boy is not arab .. he is from south of iran near by persian gulf, and the family are in north of iran, caspian sea. movie shows time of iran, iraq war in south of iran .. so boy's family dead in war boombing, and ect ..
