This is my favorite piece by Debussy and I came up with a short little story that I think this piece tells: (yes I'm a nerd)
There's a person all alone in his/her ship, lost out on the ocean with nothing but a very calm rain. (0:01-1:12) Later, the rain gets harder over the water and the person is forced to retreat inside and can only look out the window as the horizontal rain seems to skip across the water. (1:13-2:00) A few moments later, the rain settles and the person can finally see a waterfall far over the horizon as he/she gets closer to land. (2:01- 2:23) Then a mean storm is growing behind him with lots of wind and the person decides to ride with it towards the land. (2:24-2:35) Waves in the ocean are growing, getting higher and higher until the tidal wave! (2:36-2:55) The ship almost goes under along with the person but he/she manages to hold it together and the waves from the storm have brought him much closer to land. (2:56-3:59) The ocean calms...the storm moves on..and all the person can see is land, along with nothing but little isolated raindrops. (4:00-end) It is now that the person finally see his own reflection in the water and he is alone no more..
Ughh my head looks like a mushroom...bad hair day.
You have a few missed notes now and again, but your style and technique are all there and utterly fabulous. You truly bring the shimmers and ripples out of the music. Excellent.

Really fun piece to play, you did great. Nice editing, too. You make me want to post 'Hommage to Rameau' and 'Mouvement' from the same Images collection. If you play thoses, too, you go first! ;D

Nice!!! That's so cool how you made the image fade from the piano to reflections on the water as the piano faded out.
