The Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) is underway to re-plumb South Florida and prevent flooding while also reducing effects of droughts. These changes must be done in a way that maintains the integrity of the natural flow of water that wildlife depends upon. This is part one of a three-part series. These canals have destroyed the beauty and the animals of South Florida. I hope to see the day that the Everglades are again full of these magnificent birds that once filled the sky.
