Adding a little more Big Brother to their massive data collection strategy, Facebook has purchased face recognition software firm Face.com.

The 11-person Israeli firm, started in 2009, provides software that recognizes faces in newly added photos, and suggests names of the people in the photos for easy one-click tagging.

The purchase price was not made public but was estimated at around $60 million. While Facebook representatives said the software only allows users to identify people they were already friends with, privacy advocates raised concerns, saying that the tech giant could be building the largest face recognition database in the world.

"With great power comes great responsibility," Emma Draper of Privacy International told the BBC. "We would hope to see very strict safeguards on how this information is stored and who has access to it, particularly if—as seems increasingly likely—Facebook is going to start making money from it."

You need to understand the real villain is the Palestine authority. They spread lies about Israel to make her look non humane via other countries main stream media who loves stories that make you and other people sorry for Palestinian, and then you will buy that newspaper with that story or watch that channel with that report and then people like you who didn't learned the real story behind the fight and you will ban Israel.

They were shoot because the Israel army kill 2 out of 3 terror linked people who went in to Israel from Egypt and kill a worker that were working on a fence. And you know why the people who killed got there, because people live there those people came to kill as much as they can. Palestine teaches children that Israel is paletine and that Tel Aviv is a part of Palestine.

So the biggest face recognition database in the entire world will be located within a the borders of a military supervillain, who has close ties toanother major military supervillain...

George Orwell would be terrified of the world we live in right now

You forgot to say that the face.com main base will stay in Israel and will be the first non USA facebook developing center. Facebook will join a group of companies like Microsoft and Apple that decided to open their first non USA developing center in Israel.
