Multicolored LED light strip behind an HDTV

This is 3 IKEA Dioder LED light strips (they come 4 per package, $49.99 total) attached with included adhesive strips to the back of a 42" Toshiba Regza LCD TV. The dog came seperately.

Two of the light strips are placed vertically near the outer edges of the TV, and one is placed horizontally directly in the middle. Like this... I - I

I tried out using all four of the light strips that came in the package, but I felt the light was too intense and distracted from the main point of interest - the TV screen itself.

Are your lights still functioning. I did the same thing with some of the end to end strips from Ikea and they started dying after six months or so. They didn't seem to be getting hot and I couldn't find a short so I imagine the trouble was in the driver.

@costumebot Yeah, they still work just fine, but I turn them on pretty infrequently.
