@blind51de I, for one, could partially excuse Zanber as being one of those cool-sounding nonsense words, but I agree that the "Big Web"/"Cross Dart" thing is just weird.
I also don't know why giant robots tend to refer to their flails as "hammers" (is it perhaps an antiquated usage?), but that's just me.

Zan from Japanese word Zan, Ber from Saber.
IIRC Zan means Cleave, so it means Cleaving Saber.

I think the only problem with Daitarn 3 was how bad a grasp its writers had with the english words.
For instance, "Big Web" is a throwing star and the "Cross Dart" is a net. This isn't a Banpresto mistake, this mixup has been around since the show aired.
And I don't know what the fuck language they get "Zanber" from, but it's a word that basically doesn't exist. And of course it's a word that's been reused in works like Nanoha and Crossbone Gundam to mean "big-ass sword".

@Finnishiam When I first used him in Alpha Gaiden, I disliked his lack of hit/evade spirit commands and meh theme, but I quickly grew to like him, especially his godly amounts of health, epic moves and ironically, his suddenly earworm theme.
