The gateway drug is alcohol. Most people who have tried harder drugs have started with drinking and cigarettes.

@Gingervention, ironically, evidence is emerging that cannabis can help you loose weight when healthy, and gain weight when you need you are losing weight too fast. Because our endocannbinoid system is regulating our entire body and brain function (from what I understand and have read on it), it makes sense to may layman understanding. How I wish I was more qualified to explain it!

the dare program taught me at age 12 all about drugs, this was a program where a cop came to our healthclass with a briefcase of "display" drugs and parafinalia, umm it only peake mine and my classmates curiosity. durring the presentation me and two friends were joking about how cool it wold be to steal the drug breifcase from the cop......yeah thanks..D.A.R.E. worked!! happy 420

if there is any gateway drug its caffeine i myself have experimented with many drugs but i always go back to marijuana because nothing else is as enjoyable if anything marijuana keeps me from going to harder drugs

I am 23 year old man and have been smoking cannabis since the age of 12. Still to this day I have never tried coke, extacy, heroine, etc. Your ..."gateway theory".. is a bunch of ...."bullshit"....
