when i was in mississippi we went to this island 11 miles off the coast of Gulfport (called Ship Island). on the boat ride there we saw a bunch of dolphins...racing the boat and playin on the wake...and i was lucky enough to get 1 on video!!!! LEAVE COMMENTS!!!
You had better vid than I did. Was there last week, very hot, no wind and a lot of chili dogs on ship island. Daniel was the Parks Dept tour guide, he sang the song "In 1814 we took a little trip" did a fine job.

I visited Ship Island for the first time in 40 years just 3 weeks BEFORE Katrina. Was I glad that I decided to play tourist that day because who knew that 3 weeks later all hell would break loose? The good news is that I'm going back in a couple of weeks! Also, great shot of the dolphin. When I went, I saw several of them but they were about a hundred yards or so away.

thats cool! it was very bare and boring because there were absolutely NO trees anywhere on the island. the fort was still there though and still in great shape. that was a surprise that it survived Katrina! thanks for the compliment, i was flabberghasted by how many dolphins we saw!
