Very beautiful. I wish we could hear this remastered with all the lushness of his
overtones. Like di Stefano, and Carreras
after him he has great emotion and meaning
in every phrase. So moving.

Man...what a voice. I also studied with Corelli, and he had immense respect for Del Monaco. He did say he made choices which had their short comings as well as their strengths, but the guy knew what he was doing...period. I love the way the mics cannot handle his overtones. This was a voice that had to be heard in the hall. Only wish I had been old enough to do so!!!

Anch'io preferisco corelli in quest'aria, ma devo ammettere che anche questa cantata da mario non è niente male. evidentemente quello che affermava l'autore dell'opera(CILEA),che quest'aria se non si è grandi cantanti (tecnica) non la si rende al meglio.Pertile,Corelli,Del Monaco, Bergonzi ecc sono i migliori esecutori secondo la mia opinione. un saluto
