the only string that's tuned down is his low E string...it is down to a low C#...the rest of his guitar is in a regular A-E tuning...he uses the C# 13 #9 chord alot in other tunes...he likes the sound of it...you can play all kinds of things over it, which he does, not just a typical blues pentatonic or altered blues pentatonic scale...he plays half whole diminished, tri tone, G maj, etc...he's a joy to listen to and an American treasure. One word!.. WOW!!... What a time feel. Sco was on fire!!.. I had the pleasure to play with this band with Gino Vannelli in 2006. A lot of fun! They're great.
