@KapaH8sU I've always thought a cover should be one of two things: 1) as faithful to the original as possible, being essentially an homage to the band and song who did it first, OR, 2) something taking the pieces of the original song and making it entirely their own - something like Rodrigo y Gabriella's version of "Stairway to Heaven".
This is obviously the latter, and it's amazing at achieving a "new" song from an old one. I do see your point...this isn't metal. Doesn't make it bad though :)

@silycaon it's for the radio. cussing not allowed.

@gu3Shaw This isn't making it their own though. They're just singing Pantera lyrics over whatever. you could do that with literally any song and say it's a cover of that song. it's cheap. If they took elements of the music and put their own twist on it, then I would agree with you. But this is literally just taking lyrics. I could take the lyrics to "Thriller" and put it over the music of "Smoke On The Water". Would that make it a cover? Would that be Deep Purple making that song their own?

@lvacqua I have to respectfully disagree. This is just singing pantera lyrics over their own music. If it didn't have Pantera in the title, I wouldn't have bothered listening to it. They're clearly just doing it for the attention. That's fine, but this is just cheap. you could sing the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody and say it was a Queen song, or anything else. I just don't see the point at all. At least when Rage released Renegades, they took aspect o the music and put their own slant on it.

WTF is this? This is a disgrace.

I honestly think this is a damn good cover. It's good to make things your own. And honestly, I think Dime would approve. And isn't that's what really matters? Not the egos of a thousand metal-heads who think metal is the only way.

why no swearing? this song is written about hipster cunts like this band

What's hilarious to me is that this is how Pantera would sound like if they weren't trend killers hahaha if they played some alternative grunge crap xD
Imo it doesent sound close to the original.. only lyrics
Which in my point of interest in METAL, doesent really.. change anything. Anyone can write lyrics like that and put some random song on it.. Its really well produced and everything, but the idea is what im not very into. Although i clicked on this vid to see them actually sounding like pantera with acoustic guitars.
You're welcome to criticize, im sure i would understand you and hopefully you will do so too.

@KapaH8sU For what it's worth, it wasn't "produced" at all. They just sat down in front of mics and did it.
