Tony Slydini appeared on The Dick Cavett show on November 7th, 1977. This was the first time that most Americans had ever had the chance to witness a performance by Slydini. (Slydini was not a great fan of performing on television due to a bad experience in Europe with bad quality production and poor editing.)

Today, Slydini is still a name that inspires awe in the magic community. While many great magicians rely on large apparatus, "box tricks", and technology.....Slydini was completely unparalleled in his ability to mesmerize an audience with something as simple as a few coins, a cigarette or a handkerchief from just inches away.

This clip features the last two effects in a larger coin routine and is an amazing and entertaining piece of magic. Enjoy!

  • @ninjaassasin4 With respect, if you ever achieve the success and notoriety of of Slydini, I think you might be in a position to criticize his routines. :)

  • @RS1963 yeah i realized he had card magic but didnt know at the time thanks.

  • @ninjaassasin4 True. But if you were lucky to see Slydini in person. The style in which he performed went over well. It doesn't come across correctly on video. To fully understand what Slydini was like you had to have seen him perform in person. Sadly no one can see him perform live since he has been gone for several years.

  • @32Awesome1997 Slydini did have some nice card work as well. Obviously cards hadn't been a major part of his magic. But he could do them and did.

  • i wonder how good he would be doing card tricks?

  • I could follow every one of his moves. He is good though.

  • this guy.... is simply amazing! i HAVE to read his books and see all his performances!

  • @da2ielko haha, i do believe i do. Good point man. Hard to critisize grammar when idk it myself. just figured the "aw" part was like "awe" in "awesome". Never actually seen the word written down. I'll remember that now :)

  • @Cestdesconneries aweful? i think you mean awful.
