@7th75thCallaghan Regardless, that's the opponent NATO is against - do note that more civilians are killed by Taliban members than NATO troops. For a more standard comparison, the Russians in Chechenya may as well be the closest - and they're a lot scarier bunch when it comes to civilians, as far as I'm concerned.

@SuperBomber01 Well you wouldn't hear of 90% of blue-on-white engagements anyway. The Taliban are idealogical extremists, very sick human beings, certainly nothing you want to use as a standard to compare our conduct to. We are supposed to lead by example. The real problem is with reserve units and US national guard etc. All gung ho and little professionalism, not like more specialised units, who do strictly follow the ROE for the most part, when it is possible.

@7th75thCallaghan ROE within NATO forces are quite strict, last time I heard so cases of civilians being shot wouldn't be systematic or such, as far as I'm concerned. The Taliban on the other hand, seem to have no problem with shooting and bombing their own people simply over religious purposes, not to mention using them as human shields.

American Generals asked for the British Parachute Regiment to help them train there own soldiers for urban warfare in Iraq in mid 2003, due to our skills and experience in Northern Ireland, i know this as a fact as we were told of this whilst we were near Basrah.
