"Hawksfan" is wrong. You have the correct feel for Pete Johnson-style boogie. Those guys back then (in the thirties) were just starting to experiment with "straight eighths." It was called Western-style boogie, and your feel is dead on for it.
Dude, it's boogie. Your sorta supposed to swing it. I know this hearing this sucks after you learned it that way, but the song was ment to play with swing.

It's hard for me to imagine Pete Johnson, Albert Ammons or Fats Waller playing an electronic keyboard. But you do a heck of a job with it.
