@sogmosee they aren't random.. they are target marks for main points of the portrait. In this case eye nose mouth but also chin and hairline. They work for any drawing, landscapes, portraits or whatever really. Especially ones based off a reference photo.

@sogmosee the lines aren't random..they are target marks of main points on the face..ie. eye nose mouth hair line etc. Its pretty difficult to get them all where they need to be though. Most people use them for portraits of peoples faces especially but they work when doing any kind of picture.
