this song reminds me of the movie Memento... it might even be about it.
The film's about a guy whose wife is raped and killed & who himself is badly beaten and given brain damage preventing him from forming new memories, so he forgets what hes doin evry 20 seconds. also shot in black in white go goes on a mission living from an alabama motel room to hunt out her killers. leaving himself notes to help him remember what hes doing. there are more paralels to the music video including the cig shot

I never realized till now that when he says "I have one of them..." he means he intends to torture him to find out where the other one is...it is ambiguous to say whether he'll torture the other one when he finds out them. "When the night comes in I hope I'm out of the rain" ie "I hope the darkness of the deeds I'm doing doesn't stain my soul, because I know I have to do this"
