A tour of the infamous cannibal Sawny Beans cave in SW Scotland. Alexander Sawney Bean was - legend tells - the head of an incestuous cannibalistic family, who oversaw a 25-year reign of murder and robbery from a hidden sea cave on the Ayrshire/Galloway coast in the 16th century. The cave lies north of Stranraer and south of Girvan.

  • can anyone give me coordinantes on google earth?

  • @HiddenLethality 55.146176,-4.984124 Roughly.

  • Fact: Sawney Beane, his wife, 8 sons, 6 daughters, and 32 grandchildren were a family of cannibals that lived in the caves near Galloway, Scotland in the early 17th Century. Although the total number is not known, it is believed they claimed over 50 victims per year. The entire family was taken by an army detachment to Edinburgh and executed, apparently without trial.

  • @delukze I like the way you start with `Fact` then write "not known, believed, claimed and apparently" Aye. very good.

  • Guys, Is it a legend or a fact? I thought it was real, but on one site said it was a myth. I´m not sure.

  • oh, its documented. But in the last couple of hundred years it`s been twisted, exaggerated and added to. I think .

  • @delukze and apparently all of the children were born through incest

  • Fun Fact :this was the inspiration for Wes Cravens "the hills have eyes"

  • I would piss my pants for sure D=

Was it scary in some way?

  • @assilembrandywine I have wanted to game this out too, only set it in Medieval Russia, just at the time paganism was beginning to give way to Christianity, with partisans on both sides. After the setup (exposition/tasking), there's a detective phase in which the party leads would have to determine the true location of "Beane's" cave, then an assault planning phase, a combat phase, and denouement. On the trail, the PCs could pick up (rent) NPC an archer detachment, guide, etc.

  • @delukze Fail at facts, lol

  • check out my video

  • @delukze 10500 facts on iphone yeah? Led me here to, i just had to see. :)

  • So this is where it all happened.....OBSCURE MOVIE REFERENCE FTW!
