Gun kata was invented by John Woo in 1986, btw. So Equilibrium didn't steal that from the Matrix. Matrix copied it from John Woo.

Except the "gun kata" fighting style is Kurt Wimmer's version of John Woo's "gun kata" from 1986. Which predates Matrix by 13 years.

The only real "stolen" thing here (mileage may vary on this one) is Preston's black outfit which resembles Neo's.
