i must suck or probably arent leveled high enough for this quest. everytime i try it i get my shit wrecked by those trolls, and i'm level 10

It says i have to clear all of the trolls out of the cave when there is no more trolls in the cave ive went throught the cave multiple times and never seen an alive trolls but it wont let me complete the quest. any advice??

For Xbox: No journal entry for completion, cleared trolls, went to marker. I've tried this 4 different times with new characters. 1) Complete Alessia Stone first. 2) Don't do Stone first. 3) Get expelled. 4) Don't get expelled. Same result, can't complete quest. Can anyone help?
