@zekdom Who cares for how harmful a drug is ?
Prohibiting Substances is simply insane. Substances are simply substances EVERYTHING depends on the user....
Better prohibit stupid people lol

@bobshenix I agree that the government can't continue to spend 9-10 billion dollars a year trying to suppress marijuana alone. They actually spent that much in the year 2008! What a shame, but I'm for decriminalization. I just believe that it's more realistic to fight for medicinal use, and take the focus off of decriminalization/legalization
. More people would be willing to listen for marijuana for medicinal purposes than anything else. You really think that the social stigma will be lifted? -
I agree that it should be legal for medicinal purposes but also decriminalized for the general public... everything the government does is totally inefficient so i'd rather not have it controlled by those bozos lol
Generally speaking, as older folks die and younger generations get older weed will be more a part of American culture and much more accepted regardless of how legalization programs are implemented. Even if that wasn't so... the country is too broke to keep the status quo!!

@bobshenix I think the cannabinoids via smoked form would be an effective pain killer, so we wouldn't have to legalize the dangerous drugs. However, some people would say that putting the drugs in the hands of the government may not be the worst idea, but not enough people will be too happy about that idea. Therefore, we must stick to legalizing cannabis oil/smoked marijuana for strict medicinal purposes! That is more feasible than legalizing it for recreational use.

@bobshenix I knew it had something to do with "poppy". Well, thanks for the clarification...kind of weird going from AA to heroin on a pro-marijuana video, eh?
-
No... morphine is the natural alkaloid in poppy resin (opium) from which heroin is synthesized. Morphine is an effective painkiller on its own but when the molecule is acetylated it becomes the more potent heroin. Ironically, heroin actually has less side effects than morphine while also being a more effective painkiller.
Heroin is used legally in UK hospitals and other Euro countries.. the only reason the US doesn't use medical heroin is the social hysteria and stigma it has.

@Megsgirl247 The Westboro Baptists killed our reputation...ugh. Hate the sin, but not the sinner. For certain, but yes, we should pray for ourselves and everybody.
-
@Megsgirl247 Isn't morphine powdered heroin? Well, absolutely. Yeah, we can both agree on that. Just moderate it. Jesus even turned water into wine, afterall...I think He's fine with moderation.
This is actually a huge deal. Pat Robertson commands a huge following, many of whom would be likely to oppose marijuana legalization on moral grounds. If their spiritual leader comes out in favor of legislation that would reduce or eliminate criminal penalties for marijuana users, they could provide enough votes to really put America over the tipping point. Whether or not you like him is a different matter, but there could actually be a clear majority of people in favor of legalization in 2012.

@st4ticblu3 Notice how alcohol, and tobacco are up there? Notice how Henningfield ranked marijuana as the least addicting? Notice how tobacco n' alcohol are legal, but marijuana is not? It's not addicting for a lot of people. It is for some though. However..."Compared to most other drugs...dependence among Marijuana users is relatively rare."-The Institute of Medicine.
Even the Institute of Medicine recognizes that pot isn't addicting compared to other drugs like tobacco, and alcohol.
