Just Cause 2 nVidia CUDA effects comparission ON and OFF

This video shows the CUDA effects implemented in Just Cause 2. This is *not* PhysX!

There are two of them: Bokeh Filter and GPU Water. Bokeh is some kind of DoF/Blur lens effect. GPU Water draws a pretty nice water surface with ripples and waves. Along the video I'm activating and deactivating those effects.

The activation of such effects heavily impact the performance so you need a high-end nv card or SLI configuration to play at least well in high resolution like 1680x1050 or plus. Maybe a GTX275 or higher.

Este video muestra los efectos de CUDA implementados en Just Cause 2. ¡Esto *no* es PhysX!

Hay dos de ellos: Bokeh Filter y GPU Water. Bokeh Filter es un efecto de lente tipo PdC/Borroneado. GPU Water dibuja una muy linda superficie del agua con rompimientos y olas. Durante el video voy activando y desactivando esos efectos.

La activacion de dichos efectos impactan severamente en el rendimiento asi que se necesita una tarjeta de nv de alta gama o una configuracion SLI para jugar al menos bien en resoluciones altas como 1680x1050 o mas. Quizas una GTX275 para arriba.

@MrCole56 No the problem with PC gaming isn't Windows. The problem is the DRM shit the developers add that needs to run in the background, bad coding due to many games ported from a console to PC, and lots of people purchase a high end GPU without thinking about how important the CPU is and they complain.

@Ruflcopta for me, all of them is important. from cpu, gpu, ram to hard disk. the faster they go, the FPS u will get. :)

@Ruflcopta Haha true that and games on consoles are optimized to all buggery so that you see model swapping and textures shimmering a lot. PC games tend to come with less removals of detail and less optimizations.

It's like comparing Crysis to Dead Island, one is highly optimized to run on most hardware and the other lacks many optimizations in favour of quality.

I can't believe people blame the operating system for slowing a system down though :O
