http://www.golfinred.com Jacobson and Pernice demonstrate a takeaway and backswing used most effectively by Sam Snead. Although their address positions are different both players allow their left arm to work directly across their chest while taking the club back to the inside of the hands. While this would cause many amateurs to cross the line at the top, these players rotate their left arms very aggressively to keep the club on line. While the hands are very "deep" and behind the right shoulder on the backswing, the position of the left arm at the top is solid as a result of the left arm rotation. Brady Riggs (redgoat)
they aren't rotating their forearms hard to "square" it up. At best ,there might be a bit of a lift of the arms away from their original positions at address. A rising of the right elbow , in effect. When you rotate your forearms like that it necessitates a flip move at the bottom to recover the face angle; something a pro wants to avoid. Under pressure its hard to reproduce... Because the viewer remains at a fixed angle, it appears that the forearms rotate when following a rotating trunk.
