Pres. Obama's 2013 budget request includes a sharp cut in defense aid to Israel, specifically cuts to joint missile defense programs. These cuts would leave Israel vulnerable at a very dangerous time, when Israel faces serious rocket threats from Hamas in Gaza and from Hezbollah in Lebanon, and a growing nuclear threat from Iran. Oh, and last I checked we are actually spending $3 BILLION in annual military aid to Israel, and next year Obama's budget actually *increases* that number by $100 million. Thanks for drawing our attention to the outrageous amount of US Taxpayer Dollars that the US spends each year propping up the Israeli government...

Why are we subsidizing Israel again? I thought we were broke. I thought we didn't have any more money for our own "safety net"? We can't afford SS, Medicare, Medicaid, roads, bridges, or any of the other things that WE need, but now suddenly we need to keep sending money over to the Middle East? Any money that we send overseas should come AFTER we take care of our own needs, NOT BEFORE!
