Mein lieber Freund,diese rhytmen findest im ganzen raum Thrakien in Bulgarien und Griechenland,für einen Musiker der Noten lesen kann ,kann es sehr schwer werden diese rhythmen zu spielen und zu empfinden.Die musiker in bulgarien in den dörfern sind autodidakt deswegen nennen sie den name des Tanzes und nicht den rhytmus,von 6/8,2/4,etc.mit freundlichen gruss ein autodidaktischer gaida und klarinetten spieler aus Lüdenscheid

You are right, you can find these rhythms in some Jazz-Songs, well, DaveBrubeck's Take Five with the 5/8th is very popular, and if you listen to Simon Phillips or Dave Weckl you will find a lot of bulgarian rhythms in their music. By the way, are there such rhythms in the japanese Volksmusik ? :-)))))
