Our first tests at making a liquid lightshow. The oil and kaleidoscope visuals are entirely of our own making. We pre-recorded it with a D90, then projected it via a notebook.

  • Could you perhaps be so kind as to point out a tutorial no how to make this? I would love to use something of the sort on our band's live shows! Thanks in advance!

  • @CowardsBendTheKnee

Hey thanks for the comments guys.

We're going to look at making some more visuals if we can, and if we're super nice we'll make a how to video (one day). We had to work most of this out ourselves as there seems to be little to no info out there.

  • I owned a lightshow in the 60s & 70s and performed with rock bands - Sense Lab Light Show

We always wore real lab coats when doing shows

I used Nicholson's Peerless Transparent Watercolors and graduated sizes of industrial clock faces on wooden platforms with beveled edges waxed to help spin the dishes, mineral oil base projected over backgrounds made up of slides and films. Thinking about gathering up the gear and doing one for a reunion with some of the musicians I worked with back then

  • Will you please make a tutorial????

  • @martinjcox82 Thanks for the answer! If you can do that how to video, it would be superb, yes, as there seems to be nothing of the kind around!

  • aw yeah

  • @martinjcox82 Please be super nice if you can ;) Thanks!

  • so awesome still

  • i watch this every day before i go to bed

  • I mean the liquid lightshow itself, not the kaleidoscope parts. Thanks again!
