The USC Network Culture Project recently challenged the residents of Second Life to imagine new ways that virtual worlds such as Second Life could be used to make a contribution to the public good. Draxtor Despres is filing a report in 3 parts.

  • a big thanks by the way goes to Toran Cult and Michelene Bade, who built a few of the sets you see in this machinima. Their work is extraordinary and the collaboration with them is a true pleasure!

  • thanks sooo much for those comments. i can only repeat that i am honored to be able to work on this stuff. please make sure to watch in high quality. YouTube compression is truly horrible and does not reflect some of the detail i put into these reports.

  • Love the work Draxtor, Now if only others would put some effort into the quality of their own mics / sound setups XD

  • Great video and documentation. I think this helps explain SL and its benefits the best. I have Multiple Scelerosis and am a member of the Vitual Ability Group. It has been a tremendous help to me in many ways.

  • Great documentation of one of the greatest projects in Second Life. I am going to show this (among others of your videos) to my clients and students to show them how virtual worlds can make a difference and how they can be useful in (to some folks) unimaginary ways. Wirklich sehenswert :)

  • Ahh, very nice. 'Networked imagination.' :-)

  • With this video, Drax now has a Triple Crown! I just posted it to my facebook account and am sending the link to email contacts. Drax has shown far better than I can say why Second Life and it's ilk are such important media for effecting good works and a better real world for all. KUDOS, Drax!
