Prelude to Einsten's Theory I - The Michelson-Morley Experiment (3/3)

For people like me who prefer "Idiot's Guide" books to textbooks - This episode covers the Michelson-Morley Experiment, which was originally designed to measure the earth's rotation by measuring the speed of light. The findings; namely, that the speed of light was constant in every direction imagineable, were completely unexpected and baffled the scientific community. It would take a young, unknown figure named Einstein to finally "shed some light" on the phenomenon.

really great! I´m reading Einstein: His Life and Universe by Walter Isaacson, and it´s very good. These videos (and wikipedia) help to understand everything that happened at the time and how those great theories were developed.
