Hi David, unfortunately I cannot get pie apples in a can where I live so is it possible to use just normal apples (if so, which kind of apples?) and slice them? Thx a lot :)

ooooooooooh David I have been looking for this recipe for ages was at a PTA meeting and this was being served ooh my I'm going to the shops to get the ingredients... ty ty ty yes its now one of our aussie favs!

JMHO but using unsalted butter is always best for any cooking. You can control the salt. Plus it is a higher quality cream. the salted butter is usually the leftovers of the butter making process--hiding any impure taste. An old baker told me that some 20 years ago.

Are pie apples like apple pie filling? I live in the US and all we sell in cans like that are apple pie filling.

just want to ask...what kind of powder in the start of your video...and the cream...i'm sorry i cant hear clearly...i am asian girl here in hk...i watched a lot of your videos today...and i can say..i am your fan now..bcoz you look so kind and good..and your recepies are alll good...thnx a lot

The powder is a packet of generic cake mix, and I used sour cream.
