  • I kind of liked it. I don't know why I see nothing but Bad reviews. You can't honestly think that the view of the arena was Crap. That was awesome.

  • GREAT STUFF

  • @eagle219406 Stunning is the word I'd use. I don't think the Trek Purists like the remastered stuff, though.

  • When it's leaving orbit the bussards' spinning motion seems to be pointed outward as opposed to both spinning toward the middle of the ship.

  • You can't "take all the time to get it perfect". Time, budgets, and resources are finite. Also who knows what contractual deadlines had to be met, or use of the rendering equipment had to be shared or scheduled?

  • I don't know if the CBS people really had a "deadline", though, since they'd been talking about improving TOS fx for *years* before they finally did. Why they didn't take all the time to get it just perfect--especially knowing how incredibly nit-picky fans would be--is beyond me. But still, I think the new remastered versions are a 150% improvement over the original. And someone here was right when they said it doesn't look as CGI on a normal TV screen as it does on Youtube.

  • Yes there are a few times when it does look a little "Too CGI." BUt that is not due to bad artists like most people think. Have you ever seen the movie, "The Last Starfighter?" It was one of the first movies to use CGI FX. There were parts where it did look cartoony. The makers in a DVD commentary explained that it was due to them hitting the deadline before they could complete the effect. That is why fanfilms FX look more real because they can take their time.

  • I agree. The remastered FX aren't perfect--they look too CGI--but they are a big improvement over the original. The ship moves more smoothly through space (this is especially good during battle scenes), the planets actually look like planets and we get to see things we've never seen before, like the bridge and arena shots here.

  • Those CGIs it's more looking like some PC game animation videos from some game from 6 years ago.

  • These are crap. They will look so lame in 2 years. Bad move CBS. VERY BAD MOVE!

  • Thank You Destructive1 yours is the only source of remastered teerek available to me
