Thx a lot for ur reply. I found a solution soon after i posted my comment. And yea i had the same problem u just talked about and i was able to fix it by setting the output of 555 timer to ground by a capacitor and a 100k to Vcc (still connected to output). I am using Cmos btw

Well I suggest you to connect the input to ground via a 1K ohm resistor, the the push button switch to +5 volts. That way you assure that when the switch is in its off state, it see a logic 0. If you don't put the resistor, and it's TTL mode, it maybe registering a floating voltage, that won't let the circuit work as intended. Hope the help you, good luck on you're circuit.
