  • Thanks for these series, really interesting, in fact I have never heard of the flings, real estate, and the dawes, so I'll check them out. Cheers

  • @Chris4127basket I'm glad you could discover some bands from this...please let me know what you think! Thanks for the kind words!

  • I loved your whole series of your best of 2011. I really dig your War on Drugs choice. Your number one choice is very interesting only because I have not heard any of it. I actually only heard four out of your top ten I have to say honestly that I may have chosen some of your higher picks lower towards the top ten. But you bought each record instead of burning someone else's on CD and you listened to each one religiously. So how can I argue with your picks? Outstanding job Kevin. A+

    Rob/Boston

  • @Paneeks1960 Thanks so much for the kind words...you must check out Dawes and give them a chance if you like rock music...it's simple, but beautiful. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get everything on my top 50 list...think I missed like 7 of them on vinyl, but eventually they'll come...Can't wait to see what we have in store for us this year. Hope all is well!

  • Sh!t, I'm so lost. I don't follow current music nearly as much as I used to. Except for Kurt Vile and Ryan Adams, I don't know any of these bands. Great job compiling your favorites of the year. Do you know The Head and the Heart? They're my current favorite from the NW. Yeah, I like them more than Fleet Foxes or Death Cab.

  • speaking of jeff buckley esque singers have you heard of city and colour?

  • Also I got my top 50 organized, just have to find time to make all those videos, hopefully that will still happen. Interestingly enough we only share about 10 albums between our lists, lots of the ones you did show make my honorable mentions though. Once again awesome job and thanks for finding the time to make the videos.

  • Congrats on finishing, loved the videos and I liked how Cali-centric your list has been. Seeing bands live and being from their area does change your perspective on them and it's cool to see how that is reflected in your list.

I've heard all the albums in your top 10 except for Dawes and The Fling. I can tell Dawes isn't my thing from the BGM but will check out the full album since you recommend it so highly.
