Peter Woolf was a prolific offender, ensconced in a world of violence and depravity, who, by his own reckoning committed about 20,000 crimes. Then he burgled a house, fought with his victim and ended up in prison yet again. This time though it was different. Peter met with his victim, Will, in a restorative justice session that took place in the prison. The meeting changed both their lives for ever.
Peter and Will tell their stories in this film which coincides with the launch of Peter's book, The Damage Done published by Bantum Press and the launch of Why me? founded by Will, a campaign group set up by and for victims of crime who have benefited from restorative justice and want others to be able to benefit from the same opportunity.

This is a very moving film & I've recently played it at 3 seminars at Kent Probation promoting RJ. We were also lucky to have Sian West from "Why me" come and talk about the benefits of RJ. I'm just about to start Peter's book, "The damage done".

Peter, I was very pleased to meet you and hear your presentation at Kent Probation last week. A truly inspiring story and I applaud the work you are now doing to further RJ
I hope you maintain your health and get whatever help you need to continue this good work

Very touching. I have read The Damage Done, and quite frankly Mr Woolf, whilst you may have turned yourself around, you damaged the lives of many, many people. Your so called hard man antics, and the perception that you had of yourself as a hardman does not impress me one little bit. If you had broken into my home, you would have been carried to hospital on a stretcher, guaranteed. Restorative justice is a crock of shit. My answer to people like you is the noose.
