Six Flags New Orleans [Abandoned Theme Park] / August 2010 / 2

Taken while walking through the park in August 2010 on a verrrrrrry hot day (heat index of 107 degrees!).

At one point in the video, some kind of animal or insect makes a noise. That and parts of buildings/rides blowing in the wind are the only sounds you'll hear at this park nowadays.

In addition,does anyone know if the small "Themepark" that was at the citypark survived in any-way?? For any1 in-the-know that was a really interesting-looking place(the Mothergoose-like area,especially).I would love to know if it's still around...

Especially that unusual little Caterpillar 'coaster...

Would appreciate any info.

Surprised no one pointed out the name "Jazz Land"on any vid titles...

I actually went there shortly after it was opened(a few months or so),before any big name rides were around(I don't think Batman & Riddler were there yet).

It actually was barely turning a profit from what was in the news up until 2002(when I moved)so I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did...

Anyways,sad to hear they closed it since it was the only ThemePark there.They sure need SOMETHING there in N.O....

All of this happened because of Hurricane Katrina, the park's drainage system failed and was abandoned from 2005 to 2012 were taken Batman ridller attractions and more of the park the park is not reopened because of problems with the insurer and the park remained abandoned no intention of reopening!
