Ive never rode a Thomas Freightliner before. Even though my school system purchased them in 00-01 the route I was riding was never assigned one. It was a 98 Blue Bird International from grades 9-11 then a 1999 Amtran International my senior year and the first year after. I dont know about the second year after but I know lately that route has a Thomas C2. I wish that route got a 2002 IC my senior year instead of a 1999 Amtran.

when i was in high school we had a thomas i think it was when i was 9th grade which was 4 years ago and they had just came out.. these seats smelled new toward my senior year and it had mercedes engine

The Frieghtliners are my fav. I wish that ours had airhorn on them.

@94Carpenter29 ky... i think they added them after the carrolton bus crash on I-71 back in 1988 where there was an older school bus being used by a church - and a drunk driver crashed into it... Buses now have the side escape door in case of an emergency such as that occurs... (extra exit).... I would fear for a child riding a bus that had no side exit, after knowing what happened to all those people on the Carrollton bus crash... (and the way that some of these bus drivers actually drive)

If you have a front service door, rear emergency door, 4 window exits, and 2 roof hatches, why no side emergency doors on those buses? In the event of an accident on a 66-72 pax bus how would you get all persons out quick enough? If you can't get the front service door open, you can at least use the side and rear to evacuate... With no side, everyone would have to go to the rear ,or use the roof and windows

@biglinc1 What state are you from? Ohio does not require school buses to be spec'd with side emergency doors. Its a rather rare option in my area.

all my thomases with manual doors have vandal locks... urs are soooo barebones..
