The abbot of a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in southwest China has been jailed for three years on charges of endangering national security by inciting the masses, a group monitoring human rights in the Himalayan region said

I won't be watching the Rose Parade on TV this year because of this pickle. Instead, I'm going to Mass since it's the feast of the Solemnity of Mary (a Holy Day of Obligation, for I'm Catholic). Asking that saint to pray for China and her people would be more important than watching the controversial float careen down Colorado Blvd.
