Here's the instrumental for 'May It Be' by Enya, from Lord of the Rings.

Please check out my channel and subscribe :) http:/www.youtube.com/nadine2704

Please post a video response if you use this! I'd love to listen to them :) Also, it'd be fantastic if you could credit me in the description so others know where to find the instrumental :)

Lyrics: (being around 0:06)

May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadows call
Will fly away
May it be you journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now

  • WHEN DO I START SINGING!?!

  • You start singing at roughly 0:06

  • When I tried to sing the song I found out that it is more difficult than I thought, because you can´t here from the melody when you need to start to sing. I think that makes the song even better.

  • Yeah, I found the timing a bit difficult too! I think this instrumental is ever so slightly slower than the original, which doesn't help! :D

  • As I listen to the music I find myself imagining that I'm far off in a distant land. The long green grasses sway to the wind and the gentle warmth of the sun caresses my face. All is well and I am at peace

  • I love the Lord of the Rings, its by far my favorite movie and novel of all time. :D i cant imagine life without it. i can watch all the movies back to back over and over again, and it never gets tiring. When i watch it, i can hear the melodies of this song, and Into the west in the third movie, its just, amazingly great. Thanks, the song shows my passion for the greatness of the trilogy and how strong the lyrics are, when i first sang it, I started crying. :) Good job, thanks again!

  • the movies were absolute garbage next to the book, but one or two of the musical pieces were perfect. This piece captures the true spirit of Tolkien's trilogy, which was so...intermittent, in most of Jackson's saga.

  • Hi my name is Victoria, I am 7 years old and I love to sing really beautiful music. I am learning this song because I want to sing it for my brother. Thank you for providing this instrumental and I have subscribed to you, I hope you will subscribe to me back.

    Smiles to You,

    Victoria

  • @popylong123 it's supposed to be slow.

  • Thank you for posting this. It's the best instrumental I could find.

  • @Cyberbob1987 its too slow

  • Very well done. You also have a very extraordinary voice & talent. If God leads you to a singing career, or what ever you do may you do it with all your heart. God Bless.

  • were is the lyrics?

  • Hi Nadine - a beautifully produced version of this classic. may I make 1 small request though? It is a touch slower than Enya's version which means I find I am holding onto notes longer than I normally do when singing to Enya's track. is there anyway you could speed the track up slightly to match the timbre of Enya's original? That would really help make this a 10/10 performance! Many thanks and best wishes!

  • I love the ending! :D
