Oct. 15, 2009: The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure held a hearing to receive testimony from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other stakeholders on the 37th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act, with a special focus on its compliance and enforcement programs. Congressman Arcuri's opening remarks underlined his belief that hydraulic fracturing methods of extracting natural gas should be subject to regulation under the Clean Water Act in order to ensure that development of natural gas does not jeopardize our greatest resource: our water.
