BLOODROCK - D.O.A./EVERY BODY'S NIGHTMARE

BLOODROCK-DOA Jim Rutledge, lead singer of Bloodrock, has released a video of DOA/EVERY BODY'S NIGHTMARE. This version of DOA was recorded in 1986, and features Lee Pickens on lead guitar with another amazing performance. The original version was on the Bloodrock 2 album and was RIAA Certified Gold in 1971.

Originally this WAS based on an airplane crash that Lee Pickens witnessed personally of his friend who owned his own plane and had just dropped Lee off before flying back up 200ft and crashing.

The car in the video is Cadillac El Dorado , it was owned by Sam Lobello , the car was blown up with a swing trigger wired to dynamite and the rear axle chained to a pole at Charlie Prides Studio and alot of fire and explosives smart people onsite . The video was originally created for a campaign driven by the MADD orginisation .

@angielives2 I also had the album. It was the only album I had of Bloodrock which had a few other good songs. I miss the 70's. It was an awesome era, especially for music.

This video is a car crash version which CAN be interpreted this way for many who hear it the first time.. Why the song was written is actually from a story about an airplane crash based on an incident with his friend that Lee Pickens saw happen when he was 17.

~DOA means dead on arrival.~ I am of the over 50 crowd. It came out in March 1971. I had the 45. I know the lyrics and even before I knew the true reason behind the lyrics, I knew it was about an airplane. Either version works for me.

i first heard this on Vin Scelsa's 'Idiot's Delight' radio show back in 86' I think....I'm not sure if he played this newer version or the older one. Anyhow, so "hit something in the air"...?....they got struck by lightning??.....do you really think that Bloodrock meant that way back in 71'?...
