Actually, living in close confinement with others is VERY difficult. The iona Community itself is based in the world. There are very few "resident" Community members.

The communal spirit - "live, work, worship" - gives the Iona residents an appearance of peace and happiness - it's hard to imagine what is "difficult" about living there for a year or longer.
We should all be so fortunate as to suffer this "dioffficult" life - tho I imagine it's more physical than many of us are used to even here in the U.P. of Michigan.
