CHAN:
Last week was Japanese Cuisine week and NTDTV visited a very talked about restaurant that has a bit of a twist. Let's go to our correspondent Gina Shakespear to find out more.

STORY: I'm outside Ninja New York Restaurant in down town Manhattan, word has it they're down stairs creating secret recipes lets go down and take a look.

Ninja's are well-known as people in black costumes who have superhuman skills and abilities like a mixture of martial arts and magic.

[RESTAURANT PATRON] "Well it's our first time here we are really excited to be here, we think we are going to have a great time...were really looking forward to it".

So what can people expect when they come to this restaurant?

[SEIJI-RESTAURANT MANAGER] "The great service and great food and something...a surprise.

Reporter: So you can't tell me about the surprise?

[SAIJI-RESTAURANT MANAGER] "It's a Ninja secret".

The art of Ninja has had a lot of influence from Chinese Martial Arts.

And surprises just kept coming we almost couldn't keep up with Ninjas explosive menu and up beat service.

[JASON, NINJA] "This is one of our ninja art dishes and in order for me to do this dish I need to recite an ancient spell believe that or not so are you ready...its in a drum butter sauce with garlic and parsley and a little bit of almonds quite the delicacy"

Reporter: Its like seafood, it would fall into the category of prawns and Pauas do you have Pauas in America? You might have to go to New Zealand for that. But basically this is very interesting and the consistency is quite nice.

We choose two other seafood dishes including a bright red lobster, and an interesting salmon dish in which I had to pull a sword out of, and then appeared a mysterious ninja smoke.

Ninjas were seen dashing from here and there setting tables and pulling tricks on the guests.

But we only saw them briefly as they were getting ready for a busy nights service.
