honestly, why should these little shits get real jobs when the cops never bust them or even follow up on any mugging. I once went to the police station in San Pedro to report a mugging and they laughed. What Laura did is incredibly stupid not ballsy. people in puntarenas have been killed over cellphones and san jose, even a pack of smokes.

Costa Rica is generally a safe country for tourists, but petty theft is a major problem. A loud belt alarm is good to have. A car alarm which can be activated by a switch near the dash is also good to have, if you live there and have your own car. That alarm includes all the lights flashing. I retire to Costa Rica full time next year, I will have to study my safety methods for sure.

Laura was stupid to risk her life by putting her head in the car of the robbers. One can always replace a car but a knife in the neck is harder to fix.
