Left the E-3 with 12-60mm lens outside overnight in snowstorm which turned to rain. Outdoors for approx 15 hours, snow and raining for about 10 hours

  • Have you ever tried to clean the E-3 in a dishwasher?

  • Nope, a dishwasher is pushing it to far for me!

  • Ok I heard the camera taking pictures, but there is nothing on the display :> ?

  • I have the pic review function turned off on my camera, for me it distracts me when taking pics

  • This would probably kill a normal camera.

But not the E-3, what a camera, this is serious buil quality. I wish i could get one for me. This video just convince me right away. The E-1 was already great building...but this one is wild.

  • Impressive, the E3 is just amazing.

  • But your sync port has no cap on!

  • @seim0o I wouldn´t recommend that. A Dishwasher uses heated water and strong streams to wash off encrusted food. No weathersealing would hold that.

  • @1986Chaitanya I tried stuff like this with my K10D and it's still alive :)

  • the only other camera that survives rains are Pentax

  • @ichirootaniguchi My friend has plenty of times. Nothing.

  • @TheWorld4all I would buy Olympus compact camera, but not dslr. It is just my opinion. Things I appreciate about E3 is it's weather sealing... But 11 point AF isn't quite enough for me, atleast not in semi-pro DSLR. I have Nikon D3s and D300s and I know what I am talking about... I would like to see comparration of E3 and D300s, which is the same class as E3, or maybe Eos 7D. You know, I said it recently, I don't care what are you using, it is just my opinion in Olypmus SLR's :)

  • @nishal92 - it just goes to show you how little you know about photography. Olympus has one of the better cameras. E3 is one of the great camera if you know anything about cameras.

  • @Grafenfoto Yes higher noise is good, when you are shooting old style, I used it on my 500D. You know, some of dslrs fits to your hands perfectly, some less... olympus is for me less fitty :) But I dont care, the most important thing is that all of us love photography :) <3

  • @nishal92

then you just looked at photographs from guys who can not photograph. The e-3 is a little bit noise, but hey, I use that as an advantage to get my beloved "analog" Impression. I can live with the noise better than with Detailloss from digital denoising inside the other Cameras.

  • I would never buy an Olympus... compacts are great but not DSLRs :/ You can get decent weatherproof but what about the image quality? I have seen some images from Olympus cameras, and they looked like they were shot with compact. Tons of noise, no dynamic range... But, still thumbs up for the build, even my D300s can't do such a thing, maybe can but I don't have balls to do this :)
