Songs from the only EP of this early 90's band formed by members of Sinister (Aad and Ron) and Entombed (Lars).
The songs are: Mutilating, Monastery and False Prediction (tracks 1, 2 and 4).

I've made it because I think that it's impossible to find and to listen to it on the web anywhere.
So enjoy!

  • I am quiet agree with all this.

I really like Afterburner, even if I don't like as much some details (but that's just my adamant nature ^^), and I was disappointed as a consequence by The Silent Howling (because of my personnal vision of things), but that's not a bad album of course.

However, if the first albums were more brutal in a sense, I think they are the more complex ones too. The three first ones remains my favorites and Afterburner is not far...

  • @Wyndorel They took another direction on purpose. Too bad indeed, but Afterburner kicks ass IMO, and The Silent Howling ain't bad. I like all their stuff cuz its all good for me, just different. The early years were more in your face death metal. But they all have their qualities IMO. I for example like Creative Killings cuz of the crazy riffing.

  • Yes, since this album and now the new I definitely keep away from this band. So sad it's one of my favourite... Afterburner was a great come back (the last one I really liked was Aggressive Measures) but they lost their way (or took another I don't like I should say) then...

  • @Wyndorel Yeah, in the golden days of death metal back then huh...

You mean 'The Silent Howling' ?

  • Neet? ^^ I don't know this word, but still understand what you mean though...

I guess their respectives great first albums and the more "underground" circuit at the time permitted some more close relations between them.

Concerning Sinister, incidentally, I have to admit I am disappointed by the way they are evolving. That's too much artificial for me, lacking of organic, pure and really brutal atmospheres. Their last album cover is just ugly besides (I didn't like much the last one too)...

  • @Wyndorel Still pretty neet how some Dutch artists got in Touch with someone from Entombed, just like that. Well i actually meant that the EP is that raw, i didn't meant to call it real shit, cuz what i hear isn't particulary bad. It's the production that makes everything sound the same at moments, pity.

  • This EP is a really good one, and I don't care about dumb people that just satisfy themselves by spitting on something they can't reach. I don't think with the composer of Cross The Styx and the vocals of Left Hand Path at their peak yet they could have made something bad, and they made some honourable death metal together. The production is raw and that's just unposed songs, so don't expect it to be at the level of the pieces I quote of course...

  • Fucking nice to upload this stuff! I was checking MetalArchives for Sinister a bit, and i came across this demo/EP. The review said it's shit. In some way i do think this is shit, although i like some riffs. BTW Sinister's new album is going to be released: 17 december !
