God is not glorified by our trials and tribulations, but by the way we handle them and help others. If others see us doing right and helping others it can bring more people to Christ thus glorifing God. I lean on the Lord through good times and bad.
Increased prayer in and of itself does not glorify God, but the certainty of our need for Him every minute working character into us is what glorifies God.
Some who have never suffered illness, loss and death, have a willingness and ability to sit with others who are in pain.
@sevenarmy1 God is not the causative factor in all suffering. Hardships are always here in this fallen world. God does not always deliver us out of them, but He comes to us in them. He gets glory from the way we respond to them. Some things that are a hardship to some people are a breeze to others.
@sevenarmy1 Your remark to me is warranted. I did not go on to say that one can get ‘bitter or better’ – it is up to us. Suffering loss, illness, and death alone does not qualify us to help others in theirs but how we cooperate in letting God work in us through it. Looking for a reason in why things happen to us is futile and can lead to aberration of character.
Hardships come to many who do not have a clue how to respond – but the pain can drive them to seek God, or to go away from God.
So God lets you go to a concentration camp, lose all your family and get starved to death so He can be glorified. Or live your life in a wheelchair dealing with cramped muscles, having to get your diaper changed - for His glory. We have got to think a little deeper than that!
