Queensland Rail Inter City Express power pair 153/154 pull X954, the Gympie North to Roma Street service into Nambour on a overcast friday morning.

  • I grew up in Brissie at a time when the EMUs were just starting to replace loco- hauled suburban carriages... by the late 80s, these ICEs were operating the "Spirit of Capricorn" service, but I also remember the hybrid ICE / EMU combinations for this Gympie North service....

    Not quite that much. It will be done in the future. QR is focusing on the Tugan/Gold Coast Airport link first, then the new city underground.

  • If theres one place I'll visit by train, specially by an ICE, its Nambour. Best country centre in QLD apart from Cooroy and Yeppoon. :D

  • If they were going to duplicate between nambour and caboolture, that would cost 35-40 billion dollars(AUD or around 38-39 billion USD)

  • Well QLD isn't as populated as Europe is you nob.
