I grew up in Brissie at a time when the EMUs were just starting to replace loco- hauled suburban carriages... by the late 80s, these ICEs were operating the "Spirit of Capricorn" service, but I also remember the hybrid ICE / EMU combinations for this Gympie North service....

Not quite that much. It will be done in the future. QR is focusing on the Tugan/Gold Coast Airport link first, then the new city underground.

If theres one place I'll visit by train, specially by an ICE, its Nambour. Best country centre in QLD apart from Cooroy and Yeppoon. :D

If they were going to duplicate between nambour and caboolture, that would cost 35-40 billion dollars(AUD or around 38-39 billion USD)
