A wee acoustic tune I've been working on. Got the thumbpick out and tuned my guitar to the key of weird. This is full of mistakes and facial contortion like you've never seen before, but to hell with it, it's fun!
Thanks to Chris McNamara for giving me a hand to record this (and putting up with me gurning at him :D) , and thanks to Steven Warner for putting my acoustic in this weird tuning in the first place :D

SE Electronic 4400a Mic
Focusrite Saffire LE Audio Interface
Reaper DAW
AKG K271 MKII Headphones
I blended the signal from the guitar's preamp with the mic'd acoustic to get the tone, then added some compression and reverb in Reaper.
The tuning is : C G C G Bb C (low to high)

What strings are you using? I need some decent acoustic strings for general playing, not recording.

@RustyR When it comes to acoustic, I think that strings make more difference than they do on electric, as every guitar will sound totally different with different brands. At the minute, I'm using Elixir 12-53's. They're not as bright as uncoated strings, although they're still very bright, but my acoustic is quite bright, so the Elixirs work well with it, and give it a nice well balanced sound. D'Addario acoustic strings, and Martin strings are good as well. It's all down to what you like most.

@nomis101uk Nope, although I understand why you might think that. The basic picking rhythm is the same, but that's just a basic 'travis picking'' rhythm.
