Great vid, thank you! I am just reading myself into how you use IRs and this helps a lot.
Oh, in case somebody doesn't know it: In Amplitube you can click on "Prefs" in the lower left corner and there you can bypass -globally- all cabinet functions. That means, you don't have to edit any of your presets if you want to use something like kefir after Amplitube.
Makes it easier to to skip through presets without having to bypass the cabinet every time.

how to use them on Mac OS X?
-
also, why do I keep getting a high pitched (very feint sounding) noise whenever I play? anyone else experience this?
-
ok but if you bypass your cab sim in amplitube you also bypass all of the cab settings that are a part of amplitube. once you load the impulse are you only stuck with the options in kefir? because if you are , you mine as well just stick with amplitube and mess around with the cab settings there, you have more options.

@fearcomplexmusic awesome. quick question man. Im a college student, so budget is pretty tight. What audio interface would you recommend for a $100-200 price range?? i already have amplitube and revalver along with cubase. Btw, you have some awesome stuff on here. I subscribed :D

@darkais776 I'd recommend a line 6 product in that price range. A toneport or pocket pod or whatever they're called now. Good devices and they come with Pod Farm.

hey man whats the difference between an impulse and a plug in?

@TheFredster93 An impulse is a snapshot of a real mic on a real cab. The speaker cabs in amp sims are created with some code magic, which would be just fine if they sounded as good but most of the time they don't. Impulses have started to appear in amp sims but they are still imo inferior to the impulses made by users with their own setups, for metal at least. The amp sim guys tend to throw a mic in front of a cab the old fashioned rock way but with metal you have to be precise with placement.
